Physician and Physician Assistants Wanted

Summary

Would you like to help Marylanders get good quality healthcare? Would you like to learn things to do and not to do in your specialty? Would you like to earn a few bucks doing this?

Responsibilities

Those are the three main reasons to contact Livanta about becoming a peer reviewer as part of our Maryland Department of Health Board of Physicians (MBOP) contract.

Here’s the scoop:
1. You get to work from home or the office, on your own time.
2. You will be reviewing medical records, depositions, and other materials regarding a complaint or other investigation that is being conducted about someone in your specialty.
3. You will be rendering an opinion on 1-11 charts about whether the care rendered met standards and whether the practitioner kept adequate medical records.
4. Livanta provides all training, computer software, and templates for you, plus 1-2 hours of training, plus sample completed cases, plus access 24/7 to an IT professional to help you with getting set up in our system, which allows all work to be done electronically and securely.
5. You get paid a modest fee per case after the state approves your report and after Livanta gets paid for the work.

Qualifications and requirements

Here’s the requirements:
1. You need to have been licensed in Maryland for at least 5 years.
2. You need to have been in clinical practice at least five years post residency, including fellowship time in your specialty.
3. You need to have an active practice in Maryland seeing patients in Maryland a) at least eight hours per week or b) the majority of your practice time.
4. You need to be free of pending actions, potential actions, or exclusions.
5. You have to be willing to testify about your reports (involves additional pay if it happens).
